Easy Riding with the Mutineer

10.00

By Camilla Hansen

A short book of outsider poems. Mostly bitter.

Black Jack Ketchum

“It was tricky
discovering things weren’t happening
the way people said they were

"For some time I took this to mean
I needed to make new friends

"Eventually
I came to understand
we are all liars
The bodies themselves are lies
The births and the deaths are lies
Language is forever making liars of us all

"But still
sometimes I can’t help but wonder
how many times
and in how many homes
my name has been passed around
like some old salt and pepper shakers
by well-meaning folks
who can’t get the taste of my existence
out of their mouths"
